Matthew
Resident Spotlight
Matthew grew up in Franksville, Wisconsin, where he lived for over 20 years. He spent his early years working on a mink farm with his parents and grew up surrounded by many siblings — so many, in fact, they now live all over the place. Over the years, he also lived in several foster homes and met many foster parents, each adding to the unique path his life has taken.

Matthew’s favorite foods include classic comfort meals like steak with mashed potatoes and spaghetti with meatballs. He’s a big fan of country western music, especially anything sung by Johnny Cash. If he could have a superpower, it would be to give himself a better memory and a younger body.
Fall is his favorite season. He loves the changing colors of the leaves, the crisp, fresh smell in the air, and the chance to enjoy cozy bonfires without all the bugs.
Today, Matthew enjoys the peace of his apartment at Caraton Commons. It's full of sunlight, big enough to feel comfortable, and gives him the freedom to watch TV whenever he wants.
Matthew’s advice for life is simple and thoughtful: “Do what you can while you can. Maybe do a little traveling. See the world before you stay put.”

Employee Spotlight
Erica has been with Caraton Commons for almost five months. She enjoys working with the residents, helping them feel comfortable, and making their lives a little better. Erica grew up in Mexico and comes from a family with her mother and sister. She is not married and doesn’t have any pets right now, but she loves animals and hopes to have some in the next year.

She chose healthcare to help people and make their lives easier and more comfortable. A fun fact about Erica is that she likes to clean and organize — though she’s still not sure if that’s fun or not! In her free time, she enjoys watching TV.
Erica’s words of advice for her coworkers are to say thank you for all the effort everyone puts in here at Caraton Commons. Looking ahead, she isn’t sure what she will be doing in ten years but hopes to continue helping people in need, as well as animals and nature.
