Sandy

Resident Spotlight

Sandy grew up in the Green Bay area on a family homestead lovingly called Gobbler’s Knob—a name her dad chose because it reminded him of the scenic views and fond memories of Kentucky. With four brothers, Sandy spent many carefree days at Baird’s Creek, catching frogs and minnows and enjoying the wonders of nature. Summer is Sandy’s favorite season. It’s the time when she feels most alive, able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and fresh air.

Raised by progressive parents—her mom, a dancer and beauty salon owner from Green Bay, and her dad, a Kentucky native—Sandy was encouraged to live boldly and authentically. She is someone who embraces life with heart, humor, and a strong sense of self. Her favorite food isn’t something you’d find on a dinner plate—it’s coffee, sweetened generously with honey, a perfect reflection of her unique and vibrant spirit. Her favorite song, RESPECT by Aretha Franklin, speaks to her values and energy: powerful, authentic, and unapologetically herself.

If Sandy had a superpower, it would be the ability to make all people love one another. That dream aligns closely with how she lives her own life, with kindness, compassion, and a desire for harmony. She carries with her a simple yet powerful piece of advice: “Be exactly who you are.” It’s a message that has guided her and one she hopes will inspire others to live authentically and without fear.

Sandy holds a deep appreciation for Caraton Commons and the people who care for her. In her words, they are “wonderful, caring people with a good sense of humor,” and their presence brings warmth and joy into her life.

Eugina

Employee Spotlight

Eugina has been a dedicated member of Caraton Commons for nearly 17 years. To her, the buildings aren’t just where she works—they’re home—and she treats them with the same care and respect. Her passion for the job shines through in everything she does, especially when it comes to supporting others.

One of Eugina’s favorite parts of her role is guiding new employees. She takes pride in helping them get their hearts and minds in the right place while ensuring they understand the importance of being there for the residents. Looking ahead, Eugina hopes to be retired in the next 10 years—but still involved in some way with the elderly, a group she holds close to her heart.

While many know her as a strong presence, one thing people might not realize is that she’s an open book and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. Eugina’s honesty, leadership, and commitment make her a valued part of the team and a trusted advocate for both staff and residents.
